December 2015 – Awarded Swahili Fashion Week – Lifetime Achievement Awards   

For her contribution in the Tanzanian Fashion Industry for 20 years


December 2014 - Launch of VVK Restaurant & Food Product Shop

Khadija launched a restaurant that uses vegetables& fruits from the small scale farmers from morogoro and lushoto region, she also produce ,pack and brand local Swahili dessert that she also sells in Supermarkets in Dar Es Salaam and Mwanza Region, Tanzania


June 2014 - The establishment of Vitu Vya Khadija Farming & Food

Khadija as one of the Oxfam Tanzania grow company ambassador she was inspired to help promote small scale farmers, packed and brand their products under her brand name –VVK, she started working on her dining table as a weekend business.


August 2013:-

Khadija was appointed Sense international Ambassador, a UK based organization that supports deaf blind children.

December 2013 – The 6th Annual Red Ribbon Fashion Gala 2014

To commemorate World AIDS Day 1ST December Khadija organized  the gala to benefit TMH orphanage centre.

April 2013 - Bongo Black Ball 2013, Mlimani City Hall

The launch of khadija’s company named -Vitu Vya Khadija Ltd.  The company deals with clothing design and events

 

March 2013 – Women’s Celebration 2013, Diamond Jubilee VIP Hall

She came up with the concept, slogan, and theme and planned the 8020 fashions blog women’s only event attended by 800 women from different fields including the prime minister’s spouse, ministers and corporate personalities.

 

December 2012- The 5th Annual Tanzania Red Ribbon Fashion Gala 2012

To commemorate World Aids Day 1STDecember Khadija organized the 5th annual Tanzania Red Ribbon Fashion Gala 2012, a fundraising to help sustain TMH orphanage and training centres. The event which took place at the serena hotel was successful raising 72 million Tanzanian Shillings.

 

November 2012- Watoto Fun Day – TMH 5TH ANNIVERSARY

To commemorate 5 years of philanthropy, she organized a fun day for the children living in orphanages to enjoy and express themselves at the TMH fun centre, the organization’s play ground in Kigamboni

 

June 2012 – Tigu,Inc –American Tanzanian Business Conference, Hollywood

Khadija was invited to present the work, challenges and future goals of Tanzania Mitindo House the organization that she founded using fashion to benefit orphans.

 

May 2012 – 50 years Tanzania’s independence Celebrations, Paris, France

Khadija was invited by the embassy of the united republic of Tanzania Paris to showcase her creations under her label Vitu Vya Khadija and she also promoted other Tanzanian’s designers work at the event. Well attended by the fashion capital’s elite personalities.

 

April 2012 – Tanzania Mitindo House Training Centre Launch

She launched a training centre to benefit orphans from different orphanages to be trained in Tailoring, Jewelry design, Art& Craft and Make up

So they can be self sufficient, generate income and employ themselves.

 

March 2012 – Women’s Celebration 2012, Serena hotel

To commemorate international women’s day – Khadija co ordinates 8020 fashion’s women’s celebration event to celebrate achievements of women from different fields

The event was successful almost 700 women in attendance and enjoyed the motivational speakers, fashion show and music entertainment

 

December 2011 – Tanzania Red Ribbon Fashion Gala 2011

She organized the 4th annual Tanzania Mitindo House fundraising gala and raised 55 million to establish a training centre for teenage orphans from different orphanages in Dar es Salaam

 

October 2011- 8020 Fashions Blog’s 5th Anniversary

Khadija came up with the concept, theme, and slogan and planned the women’s only event attended by 650 women from different fields.

 

September 2011 – Tanzania mitindo House Fashion Show for DICOTA, USA

She was invited to showcase the work of Tanzanian Fashion Designers under Tanzania Mitindo House at the Uhuru Gala Dinner during the DICOTA convention in Virginia, United States of America

 

February –March – April 2011:- Style Moto Moto Fashion Shows

Founded and Organized monthly fashion shows at Double Tree by Hilton Hotel for aspiring designers and models, with the aim of promoting and expanding the fashion industry in Tanzania

 

March 2011 – TANZANIA WOMEN OF ACHIEVEMENTS AWARD

She was awarded Tanzania Women of Achievement Award in Social Well fare Category

 

December 2010:-Tanzania Red Ribbon Fashion Gala

Organized the fundraising fashion gala to raise funds to benefit TMH ORPHANAGE CENTRE, the funds raised helped to purchase a car and pay house rent for the  orphanage centre

 

October 2010:- Tanzania Mitindo House Presentation in New Jersey and Washington DC

She was invited to represent the organization at Princeton’s Fashionable Development event organized by Princeton University in New Jersey.

She also showcased the work of TMH designers at the Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere commemoration in Washington,DC

 

June 2010:- International Day of an African Child

 Launched a playground dubbed TMH FUN CENTRE in Kigamboni

She established the playground especially for Tanzanian orphans to express themselves and showcase their talents. She believes every child has the right to play regardless of their status or background

 

October 2009:-   Tanzania Mitindo House Fashion Show for Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference

Organized a fashion show, TMH designers showcased traditional outfits from different countries under the commonwealth association.

The event was hosted by his Excellency the president of United Republic of Tanzania Ngurudoto Arusha

 

July 2009:- Tanzania Mitindo House Fashion Show with Members of Parliament

Organized a fashion show, TMH fashion designers showcased their designs which were modeled by Members of Parliament at the Parliament grounds in Dodoma.

 

March 2009:-   International Women’s Day

Organized a luncheon to commemorate IWD, the event was graced by 30 girls from different orphanages and women groups and featured a fashion show by aspiring designers, music and motivational speakers

 

June 2008:- Kimasomaso –Bridal fashion show

Organized a bridal fashion show to promote local designer’s wedding collections

Showcased Tanzanian Groom’s collection.

                                                     

March 2008:-Tanzania Mitindo House Orphanage Centre,Magomeni

 Launched an HIV/AIDS Orphanage Centre in Dar es Salaam.

 A shelter for ten HIV/AIDS infected orphans.

 

December 2007 - 2008:- Tanzania Red Ribbon Fashion Gala

 Founded and Organized Annual Fundraising Fashion Gala on World Aids Day 1st Dec to benefit HIV/AIDS Orphans. Khadija showcased her VVK male collection.

 

April 2007:-Tanzania Mitindo House

Established a fashion non governmental organization dubbed Tanzania Mitindo House- main purpose is to give vulnerable Tanzanian children, particularly those infected by HIV/AIDS a better quality and healthy life.

Played the role of a judge for the designer’s competition

 

August 2005:-

Redd’s Fashion Ambassador – Waterfront Hall, Tanzania

Designed costumes availed to the fashion show, modeled by the 26 finalists of Miss Tanzania Beauty Pea gent, contributed as the back stage manager, choreographer and a judge for the successful search of the redds fashion ambassador 2005.

 

November 2005:-

Redd’s Africa Fashion Awards - Waterfront Hall, Tanzania

Showcased my male collection VVK as the opening fashion show.

Also played the role of the backstage manager, choreographer and a judge for the fashion competition which awarded 2 finalists from Tanzania and 2 finalists from Botswana.

 

February 2005:-

Sauti za Mitindo – Much More Club, Tanzania

The launch of khadija clothing’s second label Vitu Vya Khadija where by musicians showcased the collection while performing their greatest lyrics.

 

June 2004:- Tanzania National Dress Competition, DODOMA

Co ordinate the backstage designed the stage and choreographed the Tanzania National Dress Competition Regional and Final involving 51 fashion designers from different regions with 100 outfits to showcase and 35 models.

Toto Fashion Show – Diamond Jubilee Hall, Tanzania

Coordinated and organized this shows to give children an opportunity to express themselves through fashion and overall enjoyment of modeling experience. The collection was inspired by the non- availability of ready to wear traditional clothes for the Tanzania clothes for the Tanzanian children.

Fundraising promotion show for widows from different ethnic backgrounds in the Brooklyn community. The aim of my participation in this show was to promote my collections as well as create fashion awareness for Tanzania abroad.

 

November 2000:-

Black Heritage Day – Houston, Texas, United States of America

This show involved different cultures from all over the world. It gave me the experience of dealing with different nationalities and ethnic groups, and also the joy and appreciation shown for my Tanzanian garments which were sold out before the end of the event.

 

May 2000:-

Fashion Extravaganza – Sheraton Hotel, Tanzania

Responsible for coordinating the theme, designed the invitation and program, and participating in conceptualizing the designs of the garments as well as designing the stage and train student models.

 

September 2000:-

Style Moto Moto – Sea Cliff, Tanzania

Participated in the promotion and merging of different cultural experiences in fashion.

She showcased her creativity through a Tie & Dye collection

 

May 1999:-

Fashion Extravaganza 1999 – Kilimanjaro Hotel Simba Grill

Khadija brought together many fashion designers to share the platform of this exciting fashion show that merged both young and veterans of the fashion industry

Khadija’s collection was avant-garde and unique simply the use of black cotton and the brown tree bark brought a lot of attention during the fashion show.

Boombastic Fashion Show- Kilimanjaro Pool Side

Showcased a very unique collection of rich colorful Tie& Dye in bahama fabric with Cow Bones Buttons.

 

November 1998:-

Mama Africa Fashion Show – Diamond Jubilee Hall, Tanzania

Facilitated the show to encourage Tanzanian Women to expose their autonomy in exploring fashion alternatives.
